How to WIN every election!

There is much to hear about the coming 'disaster' of our country's future if the Repubican's win again... AND if the Democrats take over.  The claim is the same..."This is the most important election of our country's history!"  Gloom and doom; destruction and death to our way of life.

The rhetoric is disturbing, though too dramatic to be quite convincing.  And a most important element of our future is completely overlooked .... and that would be you and me!  The government never made us what we are;  we made our government what it is.  A great success with many flaws...just like us!

Not everyone in America believes in the higher being we call God, Jehovah, Savior, Jesus, Holy Spirit.  But for those of us who do, the time has come to cast our vote and just rest in the knowledge that we can't lose.  Our God is over all; already knows the result; and will respond to our nation's faithfulness to Him and to our respect for the authority of the Presidency.  We are instructed to pray for our leaders...and millions of Americans are and have been - always.

My plans for Election night are to watch a little of the returns, but to spend the evening mostly in prayer and meditation for our country and the citizenship.  Seeking wisdom for the future and calm confidence in our Lord and our fellow Americans.  Many girlfriends are joining me in this prayful endeavor.

Prayer is a mysterious connection,  Man to God/God to Man - when we take the time to listen and to abide in the quiet obedience of Trust.  

Disasters strike with regularity across our land - from sea to shining sea.  But the American spirit of 'can do and will' and our dogged belief in our freedoms has put many a disaster in its place...we move on and allow disaster to eat our dust.  The present pandemic is of such a dreaded and real illness, but also one of political pollution and misinterpreted and somewhat falsely collected stats.  Perhaps we will never know the truth about this thing called Covid-19.  How sad the politics and ignorance of leaders has kept us from learning solid truths that might protect us in the future.  It is too late at this point.  But we must now accept the remaining truth that life is a risk...every day, every way.  I choose to move on....back to church....and sing I will!....all the shopping I need or want.  Mask in place as I see fit and accept responsibility for myself and for others.

On November 4th, I plan to be calm as any storms of anger or rebellion raise ugly heads.  And I plan to respect the leader who is chosen.  And of course, we will be tested in patience and trust if the counting is close; if greedy lawyers bring suits; and if courts make decisions that belong to us. 

The thing about leaders is that they are unable to stand alone.  No man is an island!  And neither political party is right every time on every issue.  So, my vote is cast for NEITHER of the 2020 candidates...but it is cast for those who surround him with influence and for those principles the parties have held consistent over decades.  I choose those who are not wandering around in unknown territory, but are committed to what has proven worthy over time. 

My rhetoric is simple:  research platforms; make my best decision with the information at hand; cast my vote; stand still on the portals with my Lord and respect his creation of the human spirit.  The future will unfold.

And I'm going to WIN this election!
