My big sister, Freddie Sue.....

If you felt something different when you woke up this morning, it's because the Universe shifted just a bit after midnight. Jesus came to get the great, fun-loving, never- met-a-stranger, generous-hearted big sister of mine...and mother to Keith and Chris. She left with Jesus. The world will take time to adjust after one of its souls is gone...each being so important. Sue's absence breaks the chain of connection of all living things that our Creator gave us.

The world is not the same without her smile and penchant for giving and taking teases; her distinctive voice; the way she walked; her love of her two sons and the grands. I'll never answer the phone again to the greeting, "Hey!" Sis won't be on my Christmas shopping list this year for the careful planning of what she might like. We won't feel her hugs again. We missed her 80th birthday celebration because of an ugly virus that became unfairly more dominant than the love we all have for our family members.

She was most likely very relieved to take off the body that was so beautiful, but ravaged by conditions which had no cure. And she won't be dealing with any insecurities in our present national mess...no uncertainties about her future. We're ok, but of course death is too awesome to be understood by mere mortals.

There are no final plans to announce, as in our present covid world, the goodbyes will be private for immediate family. Thank you for understanding. If you knew Freddie Sue, maybe today or very soon you might have a celebration...perhaps a forbidden luscious dessert; a new book to read; time with a precious friend; reach out to someone in need...she would feel honored by any act of kindness in her memory.

And we will be grateful that you,too, loved her.
